18:23 | 15.02.2016 Category: Official

Chisinau 15 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs the Moldovan citizens intending to travel to/cross Greece that local farmers continue the protests started on 9 February 2016, blocking the national roads and highways for an indefinite period, including the ones connected to the border checkpoints/customs points of Greece, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.

Thus, the following roads have been blocked:

The Tempi Valley border checkpoint, Larissa region (Athens-Thessaloniki highway);

The Kipi customs checkpoint at the border with Turkey;

The Promachonas border checkpoint at the frontier with Bulgaria.

Also, it is recommended that Moldovans avoid groundless travels to the Athens region, as well as making visits to the city’s centre and tourist regions, taking into account estimations that mass protests for an indefinite period are possible in the Greek capital too.
