Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/-Two oil companies controlling an important part of the fuels market informed about a new cheapening of the diesel on 15 February, just a few days after the last price cut in late last week. Oilmen reduced the pump rice for for diesel by 0.25 lei per liter, from 13.32 lei to 13.07 lei.
This is the fifth cheapening of the diesel this year. Sources in the National Energy Regulatory Agency do not rule out that other companies will reduce the costs in the near future as well.
In 2015, the diesel, as well as petrol were imported preponderantly from Romania – 81.7 per cent of overall purchases; followed by Bulgaria – 7.9 per cent, Belarus – 5.8, Israel – 4.5 and Andorra – 0.1 per cent.
The fuel importing companies decreased the pump prices of petrol and diesel in late last week. After the cheapening, the average retail price for A-95 petrol fell from 16.13 lei per one liter to 15.86 lei, the diesel price dropped from 13.43 to 13.19 lei per liter and liquid gas – from 8.99 to 8.84 lei per one liter.
Since early 2016, the retail sale prices for diesel have decreased by an average of 1.43 lei per one litre, for petrol - by 1.06 lei and for liquid gas - by 0.50 lei.
According to oil companies’ calculations, the decrease in retail prices for petrol and diesel is prompted by their import prices cut, following a drop in oil prices at international exchanges.
