Moldovan ambassador to France presents credentials to French president

Chisinau, 16 February /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova’s Ambassador to France Lilian Moraru on 15 February presented the letters of accreditation to French President Francois Hollande at a ceremony held at the Elysee Palace, sources at Moldova's Embassy in Paris have reported.
At the meeting with the French head of state, the Moldovan diplomat said that Moldova attached special importance to the continuous development and consolidation of the friendship and cooperation relations with France, which is one of the most important strategic partners of Moldova. The ambassador thanked for the valuable support provided to Moldova in its European integration. In particular, Moraru highlighted the role of France in the launch and extension of the European Action Group of Moldova.
Also, Ambassador Lilian Moraru reiterated Moldova’s interest in boosting the Moldovan-French cooperation, particularly in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, including by promoting joint investment projects. At the same time, the Moldovan diplomat emphasized the special interest of Moldova in deepening the cooperation in the sectors of education, science and culture within the International Organisation of La Francophonie.
For his part, French President Francois Hollande said he was keeping a close eye on the development of the political situation in Moldova and reiterated the backing of France for implementing the reforms which must bring palpable results to all Moldovan citizens.
