Moldovan-Romanian trade turnover reaches 1.35 billion dollars in 2015

Chisinau, 19 February /MOLDPRES/-The Moldovan-Romanian trade turnover accounted for 1 billion 352 million dollars in 2015. “Romania reconfirms its position of Moldova’s main trade partner,” a press release by the Romanian embassy in Chisinau reads.
Romanian exports reached more than 820 million dollars, while Moldovan imports accounted for 532 million dollars. Statistics of the Romanian embassy include as well commercial exchanges with economic agents from the Transnistrian region.
According to data of the National Bureau of Statistics, which does not take into account export and import activities of the companies on the left side of Dniester River and Bender, Moldovan exports on the Romanian market increased by 2.8 per cent, up to 446.4 million dollars, while its imports decreased by 30.9 per cent, accounting for 551.1 million dollars.
Mineral products have the largest share, more than 35 per cent, in the total amount of products exported to Moldova. It is followed by machinery, appliances and technical equipment, accounting for more than 21 per cent of the total exported goods. The main category of goods purchased by Moldova are machinery, technical equipment (over 43 per cent of the Moldovan imports), as well as common metals and metal products.
At the end of 2015, Moldova ranked fourth in export and eight in import among Romania’s Eastern European trade partners.
There were also 4,673 Moldovan-Romanian joint ventures with a capital accounting for 47. 96 million dollars, in Romania in late December 2015.
