Moldovan military students attend multinational drill in Germany

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/- A contingent of 75 students of the Moldovan “Alexandru cel Bun” Military Academy of Armed Forces participate in the “Infantry Battalion MRE” international military drill, at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, in Hohenfels, Germany.
According to Captain Andrei Adomnita, students are joined by Georgian and American militaries during simulated security, patrolling and medical evacuation missions, as well as installation of check and border crossing points. The „Georgian Infantry Battalion MRE” drills assess the training level of the troops’ subunits during international peacekeeping missions.
Another contingent of the National Army along with Albanian, Armenian, Bulgarian, Croatian, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovenian, American and Hungarian soldiers is currently participating in the international „Mission Readiness Exercise” (MRE KFOR 21) international drills, in Hohenfels, Germany, during 10 February-2 March.
The contingent’s commander, Lieutenant Colonel Adrian Efros previously said infantry soldiers were training to perform missions at border check and crossing points, crowd control, performing patrols. Engineers were trained to track and destroy explosive objects.
The National Army has been participating in military drills in Germany since 2012.
