Moldovan deputy premier, Head of OSCE Mission to Moldova discuss Transnistrian settlement

Chisinau, 22 February /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today had a working meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Michael Scanlan, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.

The officials discussed the present stage and prospects for the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement. The sides informed each other on the activities carried out both by the OSCE Mission to Moldova and deputy prime minister for reintegration, in order to resume the five-plus-two and the one-plus-one talks. Balan and Scanlan also referred to the advancement within the platforms of dialogue, to identify positive solutions to the most up-to-date problems faced by residents on both banks of Dniester.

The officials stressed the importance to efficiently use all available mechanisms in the settlement process, aimed at giving an impetus to the process of negotiations and getting concrete results, including by boosting the activity of the sectoral working groups.
