Moldovan foreign ministry updates warning of travel to Greece

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs Moldovan citizens who intend to travel to Greece that a string of national roads and highways had been again blocked on the territory of Greece for an indefinite period on 24 February 2016, the MAEIE information and media communication service has reported.  

These are the following: 

∙ Athens-Thessaloniki, Larissa Tempi Valley region;
∙ Egnatia Road, Kerdvllia region;
∙ Athens – Lamia, Bralos region;
∙ Athens – Corinth, Corinth Canal region;  
∙ Athens – Venizelos International Airport, national road Athens – Koropi;   
∙ Promahonas Customs, at the border with Bulgaria; 

At the same time, other roads and checkpoints may be blocked at the border with Bulgaria, Albania, Macedonia and Turkey for an indefinite period. 

Taking into account the fact that the development of the situation in terms of  traffic on the blocked roads is unpredictable, in particular, heavy truck drivers are recommended to avoid transiting Greece on the days to come.
