Moldovan cabinet approves draft to create industrial park in southern region

Chisinau, 24 February /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a draft on giving the title of industrial park to the Ltd company Sun Invest Company, in order to create and manage the Cahul Industrial Park, southern Moldova. The park will be set up on a plot of land with an area of about 5.8 hectares.
The territory planned for setting up the industrial park has the technical and production infrastructure, which needs to be renovated. The estimated value of the investments necessary to this end is about 80 million lei. The creation of this park will attract direct investments into the region worth almost 104 million lei annually and will create 440 new jobs, and the taxes to the state budget will increase by 14 million lei each year.
According to the Economics Ministry, the setting up of the Cahul Industrial Park will stimulate the region’s development by increasing the share of the industrial sector, will provide residents with rooms for production, for offices, stocking finished goods, as well as rooms for setting modern industrial equipment of large capacities.
This is the third industrial park in southern Moldova, after the ones from Cimislia and Comrat. Starting from 2011 so far, nine projects of industrial parks have been launched, for the creation of the technical and production infrastructure of which 262 million euros is necessary. Data by the Economics Ministry shows that, in the first nine months of 2015, investments amounting to 414 million lei were made in industrial parks, four-fold more against the similar period of the year before.
According to calculations by the ministry, one Moldovan leu invested in industrial parks bring incomes from sales of 1.9 lei and revenues, in form of taxes and payments, of 0.4 lei to the national public budget.
