Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet members, at a meeting of the governmental commission for European integration on 24 February, considered and approved a draft roadmap on priority reforms’ agenda. The document represents a list of urgent actions that will be taken by authorities to settle the problems identified in the process of consultation with European partners and the civil society of Moldova, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister stressed the importance of this document and reiterated the cabinet’s firm commitment to fulfill all the actions established. “The approval of the roadmap and its submission to the European partners is our word of honour that we will implement these reforms,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said.
The roadmap does not replace the sectoral strategies and policies under implementation, but establishes the short- and medium-term priorities of the government and parliament, while taking into account the Conclusions by the European Union Council on Moldova. The responsibility for the carrying out of the measures included in the document lies both with the government and the parliament, as well as independent structures.
The participants in the meeting also discussed the progress achieved and removing the debts recorded by the Transports and Roads Infrastructure Ministry, Health Ministry and Economics Ministry.
At an instruction by the prime minister, the governmental commission for European integration will hold weekly meetings, in order to speed up the carrying out of the National Action Plan on the implementation of the Moldova – European Union Association Agreement.
