Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted a declaration on the stabilization and modernisation of Moldova. The document was backed with the votes of majority of the MPs.
The signatories to the declaration commit to promote political stability in Moldova, implement the justice and prosecution reform, reform the banking sector and implement actions to strengthen the country’s European integration, in line with the provisions of the Association Agreement signed with the European Union.
“The declaration is a commitment to what we have to do. On the next period, all arrears in reforms’ implementation will be removed. We assume the previous failures and we will endeavour to regain the trust of the citizens in political representatives, as well as in the state’s institutions,” Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu said.
Under the decision, the lawmakers confirmed support for the completion of the Roadmap on cooperation with the International Monetary Fund and switch to the implementation of the things established by mutual agreement.
“We affirm our support for an urgent adoption of a legislative package for fighting corruption and promoting integrity. The National Integrity Commission, National Anticorruption Centre and Prosecutor General’s Office will be reformed, so that we make sure that they have capacity to efficiently fight corruption, as well as independence from political decision-makers,” the declaration says.
The draft was signed by a group of MPs members of the parliamentary majority.
