Moldovan president, Czech ambassador discuss bilateral ties

Chisinau, 25 February /MOLDPRES/-As his mandate is coming to an end, President Nicolae Timofti and Czech Ambassador to Moldova Jaromir Kvapil held a meeting today, the presidency’s press service has reported.
Timofti thanked Kvapil for Moldovan-Czech good friendship ties and for backing Moldova’s EU integration course. “Along with other EU member-states, you opened Moldovan citizens the door to EU. I voice hope that we will get back to normal and will continue the EU integration, as it is Moldova’s only way for a sustainable development,” Timofti said.
The Czech ambassador said Czech Republic continued to back Moldova’s EU integration efforts and sustainable development. “Moldova is among the top states given priority for development assistance. Annually, Czech Republic is offering Moldova financial support accounting for three million euros to help it implement projects in various sectors,” Kvapil said.
The sides have also tackled the need to boost up bilateral commercial exchanges. Czech Republic ranks 16th on the list of Moldova’s trade partners.
