Moldovan premier receives Lithuanian ambassador

Chisinau, 26 February /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today had a meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador to Moldova Rimantas Latakas. The sides discussed principal aspects of the Moldovan-Lithuanian cooperation and opportunities to boost the social, political, economic and investment relations, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The prime minister said that Lithuania was an important partner of Moldova in carrying out domestic reforms, in particular, in supporting the country’s European integration. Filip thanked the Lithuanian government for the support provided and for maintaining Moldova on top of seven states benefitting of assistance as priority. “We are resolute for a permanent dialogue and are interested in taking over Lithuania’s experience in diverse fields,” the prime minister said.
For his part, the Lithuanian ambassador reiterated his country’s backing for Moldova. Rimantas Latakas reviewed the cooperation projects under implementation in Moldova successfully, among which Twinning Project “Support to the Civil Service modernization in the Republic of Moldova in line with the best EU practices,” financed by European Union funds and implemented by the Lithuanian government’s Office, in partnership with the Moldovan State Chancellery. The diplomat confirmed Lithuania’s willingness to provide assistance and expertise in other fields as well.
In this context, the sides considered possibility to initiate mutually advantageous partnerships in the energy, agro-food, financial and banking sectors.
