Moldovan foreign minister receives British ambassador

Chisinau, 1 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today received Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Moldova Philip Batson, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
The two officials tackled up-to-date issues on the agenda of the Moldovan-British relations. Minister Andrei Galbur thanked for the support provided by the UK to promote reforms, as well as for the British embassy’s active involvement in the promotion of confidence-building measures between the two banks of Dniester. Galbur pointed out, in particular, the importance of the technical and financial assistance in carrying out concrete projects, such as the ones on good governance. The minister voiced hope that the projects would be continued.
The two diplomats exchanged opinions on the Transnistrian conflict settlement process. Andrei Galbur and Philip Batson reiterated the mutual interest in the further development of cooperation in the justice and home affairs sector, as well as to strengthen the commercial and economic relations, including by increasing British investments in Moldova.
