More German companies from Romania familiarized with investment opportunities in Moldova

Chisinau, 2 March /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Prime Minister, Economics Minister Octavian Calmic presented the investment and business opportunities from Moldova to a group of about 100 German companies operating in Romania, in Bucharest on 1 March. The event was organized by the Economics Ministry and the Moldovan embassy in Bucharest, in partnership with the Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
According to the Economics Ministry's press service, Calmic unveiled Moldova’s social and economic development policies, achievements in adjusting national legal framework to the EU acquis, in the context of the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement, as well as investment opportunities in Moldova, in terms of the Free Economic Zones and Industrial Parks.
Attending the event, representatives of German companies from Moldova and Romania in banking services, insurances, consultancy, trade, technologies etc, had possibility to communicate on topics of interest, exchange opinions and experience, establish contacts in order to initiate partnerships.
Data put out by the National Statistics Bureau shows that, in 2015, the Moldovan exports to Germany amounted to 117.2 million dollars, or 85.2 per cent against 2014. On the same period, the import of German goods to Moldova stood at 321.3 million dollars or 75.3 per cent against 2014.
