Moldovan government to back investments in Gagauz autonomy

Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/-After the joint meeting of the Moldovan cabinet and Gagauz authorities, held in Avdarma village, Gagauz territorial unit, Prime Minister Pavel Filip visited Comrat municipality, voicing interest in its progress and problems its citizens are facing, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.
Filip was accompanied by Gagauz governor Irina Vlha and by the chairman of the Gagauz Popular Assembly, Dmitrii Constantinov. During the visit, the officials discussed ways to consolidate efforts taken by central authorities and representatives of the Gagauz autonomy, in order to solve the problems of the region.
Thus, the prime minister visited Comrat district hospital, currently under restoration. While in the hospital’s new surgery department, Filip held talks with the employees on the enforcement of the hospital’s renovation project, as well as opportunities to get help from the Moldovan in this respect.
The prime minister has also visited the new headquarters of Comrat’s territorial branch of Registru state enterprise. Filip praised work conditions and the level of the public services offered there. “I wish that besides Registru, all state institutions offered people quality services. To this effect, we will take punctual measures to reduce queues and bureaucracy in these institutions”.
The prime minister visited also the Vitapharm-Com Moldovan-American private company. Filip touched upon the important need to attract more investments into the region, create favorable conditions for the business environment and thus contribute to the development of Gagauz autonomy and create new jobs for Gagauz residents.
Filip assured that the Moldovan government would analyze possibilities to enhance Gagauz authorities’ access to investments Moldova is getting from its foreign development partners.
Filip paid his first visit in the territory in his tenure of Moldovan prime minister.
