Moldovan PM demands to assess preparation for Moldova-EU Association Council

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today chaired a meeting of the governmental commission for European integration. The main issue on the agenda was focused on the preparation for the Moldova-EU Association Council, due in Brussels on 14 March, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The premier approached the measures taken by the government to fulfill the commitments taken before foreign partners, noting that a large volume of work had been carried out till present.
“The recovery of delays in applying the provisions of the Association Agreement with EU is one of the goals I set from the early days of the mandate. I demanded that the ministries speed up the implementation of the measures assumed before European partners. To this end, a timetable for the liquidation of arrears and the roadmap presented to European partners were elaborated”, he said.
In this context, Filip stressed that the actions were necessary not to report on meeting commitments and get assistance from the European partners, but to promote domestic reforms and modernize Moldova. “The European integration remains to be priority for us; therefore, after 14 March, we will diligently implement the provisions of the Association Agreement”, he added.
At the meeting, the interior, justice and finance ministers unveiled the latest developments in removing arrears in terms of implementation of the Association Agreement. In the same context, representatives of the Civil Aviation Authority and National Anti-Corruption Centre unveiled reports.
Also, the participants discussed details on the Moldovan delegation’s preparation for the second meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Council. In this context, Pavel Filip asked all institutions to urgently give the final touches to all information, in order to provide professional activity at this event.
