Premier demands severe measures against persons responsible for intoxication of pupils from north Moldova town

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today demanded that the institutions in charge take severe measures against the people proving to be responsible for the intoxication with insecticide of 31 pupils of the Ion Creanga lyceum from the Cuizauca village, north Rezina district, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
“I asked for a petition also to prosecutors, given that, as I have said, I will not accept that a person who violate the law quite seriously and does not fulfill his/her office duties, escape just with a mere resignation. He/she must also be held criminally liable for non-fulfillment of the post duties, for breaching the rules and the law,” Pavel Filip said at a news conference.
The prime minister described this case as grave, and said that the cabinet would not tolerate such cases. “I had a discussion on the matter with Health Minister Ruxanda Glavan, who reported me that she had issued an order, under which the sanitary physician of Rezina was dismissed,” the prime minister noted.
Thirty one pupils were intoxicated with insecticides at the Ion Creanga lyceum from the Cuizauca village, Rezina district, on 9 March. A similar case occurred at in the same settlement, at the same lyceum, on 4 March, when 14 pupils were intoxicated.
