Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/-In early March 2016, the Moldovan government and parliament carried out and approved a road map of the main priorities to be taken in order to boost up reforms, ensure stability and speed up the implementation of Moldova-EU Association Agreement, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.

The document includes a string of consolidation measures, commitments and deadlines for the implementation of actions aimed to face the challenges ascertained in the conclusions issued by the EU Foreign Affairs Council on 15 February 2016 and signed by other development partners, and also meet the expectations of Moldovan citizens.

The road map gives a dynamic response to Moldova’s current social-political and economic crisis. It also does not substitute the current Moldova-EU collaboration strategies and policies. The road map is meant to set up a solid institutional and legislative foundation and mobilize the necessary political willingness and foreign support to implement critical reforms in the near time. To this effect, the actions focus on a narrow segment of time, of maximum 6 months (31 July 2016).

The priorities on the list include measures to curb corruption, justice and prosecution reform, mass media freedom, public administration reform, resuming cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), consolidation of financial-banking market regulators’ independence, investigation of banking fraud and ways to enhance transparency and the investment environment.

The document also focuses on the cooperation with the civil society and the commitment of both the government and parliament to revise and work out an efficient and productive dialogue platform.
