Moldovan PM pays two-day visit to Brussels

Chisinau, 14 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip is on a two-day visit to Brussels, accompanied by a delegation of the Moldovan government. He is going to participate in the second meeting of the Moldova-EU Association Council on 14 March, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The agenda of visit includes more meetings with high officials within the European institutions. Thus, Filip will meet High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini and European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.

On 15 March, the premier will meet deputy heads of European Commission: Maroš Šefčovič, Commissioner for Energy Union, and Valdis Dombrovskis, Commissioner for Euro and Social Dialogue, as well as Corina Cretu, Commissioner for Regional Policy.

The premier will meet European Parliament member, co-head of the EU-Moldova Parliamentary Association Committee Andi Cristea, and will hold talks with members of the Commission for Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament.

The premier’s visit to Brussles will conclude with an important meeting, mainly with European Parliament President Martin Schulz.

Filip will come back to Chisinau on 16 March.

The governmental delegation is made up of deputy premiers Gheorghe Balan, Andrei Galbur, Foreign and European Integration Minister, Octavian Calmic, Economics Minister, as well as Finance Minister Ocravian Armasu, Justice Minister Vladimir Cebotari, Environment Minister Valeriu Munteanu, Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdans and Agriculture and Food Minister Eduard Grama.
