Moldovan Regional Development, Constructions Ministry calls for new project proposals

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/-The Regional Development and Constructions Ministry today launched a new call for project proposals to be financed by the National Regional Development Fund in 2016-2020.
The competition is organized in compliance with the provisions of the Moldovan regional development law and is meant to develop the regional economy, regional and local infrastructure, and also modernize local public services all over Moldova.
Regional Development and Constructions Minister Vasile Bitca during the contest’s launching news conference today, said “projects accounting for 1 billion lei will be selected to be funded by the National Regional Development Fund. Thus, we want to achieve a balanced and sustainable development of all regions. We will join the efforts and synergy of all national and regional actors to avoid a narrow sector approach and make sure development regions witness a economic revival,” Bitca said.
The minister added that eligible to participate in the competition are also local public authorities of first and second level, from Moldova’s North, Center, South and Gagauz-Yeri development regions.
For his part, the department head of the Regional Development and Constructions Ministry, Valerian Binzaru, unveiled the main funding resources, terms of participation in the contest, project concept application deadlines and duration of the contest. “Projects shall aim to improve and develop road infrastructure, water and sanitation supply, environmental factors, business infrastructure, touristic activity and energy efficiency of public buildings,” Binzaru noted.
At the end, Bitca urged citizens to encourage their local authorities to carry out and submit projects able to solve important problems in their settlements.
