PM considers actions on developing Moldova's regional policy in Brussels

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today met European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu, in the context of his working visit to Brussels, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The officials exchanged opinions on developments in Moldova, as well as on priority sectors of the cabinet’s action programme. The sides tackled subjects on the agenda of reforms assumed in the context of implementing the Association Agreement and opportunity of promoting Moldova’s regional development policies.
Prime Minister Filip reiterated Moldova’s interest in further strengthening the participation of the country in EU’s regional programmes and implementation of infrastructure projects, which allow taking over the European experience and good practices of implementing the regional policy directly from EU member states. In particular, the officials discussed Moldova’s participation in enforcing the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region and the need to strengthen the cooperation with the participating countries, in order to develop strategic projects of national and regional interest.
For her part, Corina Cretu gave assurances of European Commission’s political and practical support for Moldova and encouraged the country to consistently press ahead with the European integration.
