Moldovan deputy premier meets residents from eastern district

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan today paid a working visit to the Cosnita village, eastern Dubasari district, where he met representatives of the local public administration, enterprises and residents of the district, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
The sides tackled a string of subjects of major importance for the settlements of the Security Zone, among which:
- unlocking access of farmers to lands placed beyond the Tiraspol-Camenca highway, whose right to property was seriously harmed starting with the spring of 2014 year;
- ensuring the free movement of citizens in the region and the obstacles created by the so-called power wielding structures of the Transnistrian region;
- implementation of social projects within programmes on promotion of measures to consolidate trust between the two banks of Dniester, etc.
A press release by the Reintegration Bureau says that “the participants in the meeting asked the deputy prime minister to consider possibility to increase the assistance provided to the district through national and international programmes on community, social and economic development of social units.” At the same time, the local public administration representatives asked for paying increased attention to settlements from the Dubasari district in process of interaction with the central public authorities. In this respect, the citizens demanded organisation of regular visits to areas by representatives of the central public administration bodies.
In this context, Gheorghe Balan reiterated the state institutions’ concern for the settlement of the present problems locally. Balan gave assurances that the cabinet would further provided needed support to overcome the difficulties faced by the district’s residents, as well as to improve their living standards.
In the end of the meeting, the district administration’s representatives thanked the government, in the person of Deputy Prime Minister Gheorghe Balan, for the attention and support provided to the Dubasari district in carrying out the development priorities.
