Exhibition of departed Moldovan icon painter inaugurated in Chisinau

Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ - An exhibition of icons by departed Moldovan icon painter Constantin Musteata today was inaugurated at the C. Brancusi Exhibition centre from Chisinau.
Attending the event were representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Moldova, painters, art critics, writers, journalists, as well as fine arts admirers.
The head of the Fine Arts Union of Moldova, Dumitru Bolboceanu, has said that Constantin Musteata had been one of the greatest icon painters from Moldova.
“In the last 20 years, Constantin Musteata worked in Greece, where he painted and restored more icons, and made the interior design of churches and monasteries in different cities, Athens, Zakynthos, Thessaloniki, etc.,” Bolboceanu noted.
An art critic, Tudor Braga, said that Musteata had carried out the interior design of the Holocaust Museum from Greece. Braga also said the departed icon painter had made exceptional works in the history of fine arts from Moldova and Greece.
Constantin Musteata had exhibitions in Moldova and Greece. His works are preserved in private collections from Switzerland, France, Germany, Greece, Moldova and the USA.
The exhibition will be opened till 3 April.
