Chisinau, 17 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip today summoned the first meeting of the Economic Council in 2016, with the participation of representatives of the business environment, state institutions and donors’ community, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

The prime minister reiterated the importance of maintaining a constructive dialogue within the Council, to discuss problems faced by the business environment and jointly identify efficient solutions. “The Economic Council stays one of the most important platforms of dialogue with business environment’s representatives. It is necessary to maintain a balance between the regulation policies and the business activity itself, thus forming a sound, predictable and investment-friendly business environment,” the PM said.

In this context, Pavel Filip proposed to set up topic-related working groups, which will come up with proposals on concrete fields and subjects, that will be subsequently discussed at Council’s meetings.

Filip said that he understood very well the business environment, as he had had a quite rich experience in the private business sector. On this occasion, the prime minister informed about measures undertaken by the cabinet to improve the economic situation till present. He also referred to the resumption of the work of the national commission for collective consultations and negotiations, as well as to the setting up of a moratorium on the state control of enterprises for a three-month period. The prime minister highlighted the initiative to reduce the number of permissive acts for the entrepreneurial activity by 25 per cent, as well as an instruction on revising the orders by the Customs Service on procedures imposed to enterprises within customs controls.

The participants in the meeting of the Economic Council confirmed that, in a short time, the organisations representing the business environment, academic environment and other interested institutions would delegate their representatives, due to be nominated as permanent members of the Economic Council of the Prime Minister.
