Chisinau, 21 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan Railways State Company (CFM) on 27 March will organise a return free of charge travel for the pupils of the only Latin-script Lucian Blaga lyceum from Tiraspol by the train “Unirea” (Union) on the Chisinau-Iasi (Socola) route.
According to the CFM press service, the 98th anniversary of Bessarabia’s Union with Romania is marked on this day. On this occasion, a group of pupils from the aforementioned lyceum will celebrate the Union in the Romanian city of Iasi. “The goal of this event is to support the aspirations and major efforts made by the teachers and pupils from the left bank of Dniester, in order to preserve the Romanian language alive in the region,” a press release by CFM.
In this context, CFM launched a contest, within which the company will provide 98 return tickets for a travel by the concerned train. To register for the contest, the participants must assess the CFM official webpage on a social network, distribute the photograph and write in commentaries a quatrain from the work “Hora Unirii” (Union Hora) by Romanian poet Vasile Alecsandri.
The winners will be selected aleatorily and the list of persons will be published on the site of the enterprise on 24 March. The administration of the state company Moldovan Railways has donated money to the same lyceum to purchase new uniforms for pupils.
