Moldovan parliament condemns Brussels terrorist attacks

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/- The Moldovan Parliament condemns the terrorist attacks occurred in Brussels today morning and conveys condolences to the families and close friends of those who lost their lives in the wake of the blasts, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
“We deeply regret the terrorist attacks which took place in the capital of Belgium this morning, which represent a threat to the European security. The EU member states and not only must cooperate both in terms of information and strategically, in order to avoid such tragedies. Nothing is more important than life. We are by the side of the European Union colleagues and encourage them not to give in to challenges”, Speaker Andrian Candu said.
Candu noted that he was in permanent contact with the members of the parliamentary delegations, presently on visit to Brussels, who were out of danger, in order to ensure their safe return to the country.
MPs Marian Lupu, Oxana Domenti, Dumitru Diacov and Artur Resetnicov are currently attending a meeting of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly in Brussels. Lawmaker Valentina Buliga is also in the Belgian capital, to participate in a joint meeting of representatives of the South-East European Cooperation Process' Parliamentary Assembly and Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament.
