Research shows real chances for Moldovan wines to conquer five foreign markets in 2016

Chisinau, 22 March /MOLDPRES/-A market survey carried out by the National Office for Vine and Wine and unveiled today, states that Moldovan wines have real chances to consolidate their position on the Polish, Czech, Romanian, Chinese and American markets in 2016. The research comprises important information on wine consumption and sale tendencies, as well as details on potential wine exports on these five markets.
Moldova is already present on these markets, as four of them have been among the main sale markets for its alcoholic beverages over the past two years. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Moldova exported 7.6 per cent of its wines on the U.S. market, while Poland and Czech Republic are the largest EU importers of Moldovan alcoholic beverages.
“The research adds value to the activity of winemakers, who will be able to diversify their export markets. We will further provide the Moldovan vine and wine sector with all the necessary support to help it produce high-quality wine and make it a well-known brand on international markets, in line with other wines, consecrated all over the world,” the head of the National Office for Vine and Wine, Dumitru Munteanu said.
Thus, experts analyzed all the relevant data about the wine industry in Poland, Czech Republic, Romania, China and the USA, focusing on wine consumption and profits of wine sales during 2009-2014. Moreover, the research includes information on future tendencies on the wine market and industry in these countries in 2014-2019.
Data was provided by EuroMonitor International marketing company and processed with the financial support of USAID Competitiveness Project.
“It is important that we promote the Moldovan Wine now and create all the necessary conditions to transform this product into a national pride reason, and also help it consolidate its position on main markets,” the deputy director of USAID Competitiveness Project, Diana Lazar said.
During 2016, the National Office for Vine and Wine will provide Moldovan winemakers with several similar researches about markets from the Baltic States, Russia and other states.
