Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/ - A new information platform, www.frontiera.gov.md, which contains full information on the crossing of Moldova’s state border, was launched by the Border Police, Migration and Asylum Bureau, Customs Service and representatives of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) today.

“The platform is easily accessible from the mobile phone and provides travelers with information on the needed documents for crossing the border, requirements for offering visas, quantity of goods which can be brought in without payment of customs duties, conditions for temporary introducing of vehicles, phone numbers of hotlines, as well as the situation at the border checkpoints in due time. The information is provided in three languages; Romanian, English and Russian,” a press release by the Customs Service says.

According to representatives by the EUBAM Mission, “so far, travelers have had to visit the sites of three different institutions, in order to find useful information about the rules of crossing the border and requirements in terms of providing visas. Presently, travelers can easily find the information they need in a single place.”

“The availability of clear and easily accessible public information allow crossing the border more quickly, helps prevent disagreements between travelers and representatives of border authorities, thus diminishing the risks of corruption in this sector. The information available on this platform will be permanently updated by the Moldovan authorities,” the press service of the Border Police said.

The platform was worked out with the support of the European Union and EU Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine.
