Moldovan premier visits north Moldova industrial park

Chisinau, 6 May /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Pavel Filip, on a working visit to the northern Edinet district, has met the manager and residents of the Edinet-based Industrial Park, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.      

In the discussion with entrepreneurs, the prime minister stressed the need of foreign and domestic investments for the economic development locally, including on the platform of industrial parks.   
At the same time, the manager of the Industrial Park referred to one of the residents, namely the Ukrainian company TB Fruit, which made an investment worth 8 million euros two years ago, and processed 40 per cent of the overall volume of raw material, offering also a good acquisition price for technical apples from local producers. In 2015, the company provided the highest price of the region for one kg of apples, and due this fact, the harvest of apples was fully processed.

At the meeting, the prime minister stressed that the government would back, through its investment policies, would encourage, through diverse programmes and instruments, both foreign investors and native companies, and the control authorities would fulfill their duties in terms of relation with the business environment.

The Edinet industrial park was set up in 2013 and has an overall area of 17.9 hectares. Over 193 million lei has been invested in modernising infrastructure in the last years and 160 jobs were created. Presently, four residents work at the park in the light industry, agro-food, furniture and electro-technical devises sectors.
