Chisinau, 9 May /MOLDPRES/-Prime Minister Pavel Filip today conveyed a message on the occasion of 9 May, the government’s communication and press relations department has reported.
The message reads:
“It is a tradition for us to celebrate the Victory Day and commemorate heroes fallen for the motherland’s independence every year. Almost 70 thousand human lives had been sacrificed for Moldova’s independence”.
We cannot forget this sacrifice. We shall always remember that besides having to commemorate and value it, we also owe fallen heroes the task to do more for Moldova, and make it not only independent, but also prosperous, so that World War II heroes would have liked to live here peacefully.
Perhaps, the lesson time is teaching us today, on 9 May, is not incidental. Besides Europe Day, Victory Day and commemoration of fallen heroes, which we celebrate on 9 May, Moldovan Christians also celebrate the Day of Rejoicing (Memorial Easter) today.
Thus, we remember with gratitude the heroes of this country today, who fought for Moldova’s independence. With humbleness we remember all our beloved ones, who are no longer alive. With confidence and hope, we are looking towards our path and a better future in Europe.
We wish you all an inspirational and peaceful day!”
