OSCE special representative says agenda of five- plus-two negotiations to be set as soon as possible

Chisinau, 11 May /MOLDPRES/- Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process Cord Meier-Klodt today said that, in order to resume the five-plus-two negotiations, it was needed to set the sides' willingness to participate in the meeting, as well as the agenda of issues due to be discussed.
The official today made a statement to this effect, after a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan.
Meier-Klodt pointed out that the dialogue in the five-plus-two format was scheduled to held in Berlin in next June. “We discuss with all negotiating sides and take measures necessary for a substantial and constructive meeting. Among the main subjects, there are free movement, education, transport and telecommunication sectors,” he said.
Gheorghe Balan said he was expecting resumption of the five-plus-two negotiations as soon as possible, and the topics for discussion were to be established by common agreement. “Moldova today confirmed the willingness to participate in this meeting, which is aimed at improving the dialogue and lifestyle of the citizens from both banks of Dniestre,” Balan said.
Cord Meier-Klodt is paying a visit to Moldova on 10-12 May, within which he is to meet Political Representative of Tiraspol Vitaly Ignatyev. Also, the official will meet resident ambassadors of mediators and observers within the five-plus-two process, in order to continue coordination in terms of the process' advancement.
The last negotiations in the five plus two format took place in June 2014, after Tiraspol had blocked more attempts to resume the talks between the sides.
