Moldovan foreign ministry hosts meeting of Moldova-Romania Mass Media Consultative Council

Chisinau, 13 May /MOLDPRES/- The Foreign and European Integration Ministry of Moldova hosts today the 2nd meeting of Moldova-Romania Mass-Media Consultative Council, the Foreign and European Integration's communication and media relations service has reported.
The event is attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Lilian Darii, Minister for Relations with Romanians Abroad Dan Stoenescu, Secretary General of the Consultative Council Vlad Ţurcanu and representatives of mass-media and civil society from both countries.
The agenda includes debates on the ways to use the potential offered by the Moldovan-Romanian co-operation in the mass-media field aiming at ensuring freedom of media and freedom of expression, and strengthening the independence of the media.
The inaugural meeting of the Republic of Moldova-Romania Mass-Media Consultative Council took place on 29 February 2016, in Bucharest, Romania. The main objectives of the Council are the implementation of a common communicational space between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, the transposing of the EU rules in the area of communication into the communicational space of the Republic of Moldova, the defining of projects to ensure coherence of the editorial policy in the common communicational space and encourage media representatives of the two states to integrate in the TV programmes or in the contents of publications certain sections focused on the developments in the partner country.
