Moldovan foreign minister chairs meeting of national committee for combating trafficking in human beings

Chisinau, 16 May /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur today chaired a meeting of the National Committee for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, as chairman of the committee, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.   

In the opening of the meeting, Andrei Galbur informed about the stages of the process of considering draft national reports on the work in the field of prevention and combating the trafficking in human beings for 2015. The report on implementation of the strategy of the national system in the concerned field was unveiled by Labour, Social Protection and Family Minister Stela Grigoras, and Interior Minister Alexandru Jizdan presented a report on monitoring the situation in the trafficking of human beings sector – analysis of the state and criminal dynamics.

Participants in the meeting said that, in the last months, the anti-trafficking community had organised a string of training courses for specialists of the central and local public administration, for asylum seekers on subjects of risks and consequences of the trafficking of human beings, as well as assistance and protection of victims.

Minister Andrei Galbur also referred to the launch and stages of carrying out of a contest for selecting national candidates to fill the position of member of the Group of Experts on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings (GRETA). The present member on behalf of Moldova ends his mandate on 31 December 2016. 

Traditionally, attending the event were representatives of the civil society, who made proposals to the working agenda of the anti-trafficking community in the immediately next period.
