As many as 358 Moldovans declare annual incomes worth over one million lei each

Chisinau, 17 May /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 358 persons, who declared annual incomes worth over one million lei each, in form of salary or other payments, for which the preliminary retaining of the income tax was ensured, had been identified in Moldova for 2015. The head of the State Fiscal Service (SFS), Sergiu Puscuta, made statements to this effect at a news conference on the results of the presentation of income tax declarations for the last year.
Puscuta noted that the overall income got by the aforementioned people stood at 899.52 million lei, and the afferent tax – 129.92 million lei. The number of these people has increased by 14 per cent against the year before (314 persons).
As for the structure of incomes, the preponderant share represents the incomes in salaries, accounting for 57.94 per cent. In this context, the SFS head said that the largest sum got by a private person exclusively from the salary in 2015, was of 9.3 million lei. In 2014, the maximal sum was of more than 8.1 million lei.
The youngest person of this category is 21 year old, and the oldest one – 76, Sergiu Puscuta said.
A number of 303 persons out of 358 ones with annual incomes worth over one million lei are from Chisinau and nine – from Balti. The share of millionaires from the Chisinau city has been dropping from 88 per cent in 2014 to 86 per cent in 2015 and 85 per cent this year, according to Puscuta.
Sergiu Puscuta also said that, in January-March 2016, the State Fiscal Service had received 261,155 income tax declarations for 2015, up by 2.6 per cent against the same period of the year before. Private people-citizens submitted 169,451 income tax declarations, - by three per cent more against the same period of 2015, the SFS head added.
