Moldovan top court judge on behalf of government appointed

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - Veaceslav Zaporojan was appointed judge at the Constitutional Court at a today’s cabinet meeting, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip has said that, despite public controversies dealing with this appointment, the contest for selecting the concerned candidature had been transparent, and the civil society shared this opinion.
“The government should assess the appointments its makes according to criteria of professionalism, not on politicizing criteria. In line with the verification we have made, the contest was organized correctly and Mr. Zaporojan meets the criteria needed for holding this highly responsible office,” Pavel Filip said.
The PM thanked the civil society for the exchange of opinions he had on this subject and for involvement in holding the contest transparently.
