Moldovan deputy foreign minister on working visit to Strasbourg

Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/- Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Lilian Darii today paid a working visit to Strasbourg in order to attend a meeting of delegates to the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, dedicated to the situation in Turkey, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry's information and media relations service has reported.
Similar to heads of delegations of member states of the Council of Europe, Darii reiterated the Moldovan leadership' support for democratically elected authorities and constitutional order in Turkey. At the same time, he referred to the need to ensure continuous dialogue, as well as assistance of the Council of Europe in overcoming the existing crisis situation.
Darii met Deputy Secretary General Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni. In the context, the officials exchanged opiniona about the evolutions of domestic policy and appreciated the expertise offered by the council, essential in efforts for advancing internal reforms in Moldova. Also, they pointed out the impact of projects implemented within the action plan on supporting democratic reforms in Moldova for 2013-2016. Its results will be considered on 12 September 2016 in Chisinau within a meeting of standing committee for implementing the action plan.
The European official assured of continuity of assistance of the Council of Europe offered to Moldova in boosting the democratic reforms and recording concrete results.
