Moldovan PM meets UNDP Administrator

Chisinau, 22 September /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Pavel Filip has met United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark in the context of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
The main topic was related to adjusting Sustainable Development Goals seen in the 2030 Agenda on sustainable development to the level of Moldova’s national priorities.
Referring to the complexity of 2030 Agenda, Filip underlined the importance of UNDP support for locating the goals and their fulfillment at national level. He said their implementation would contribute to carrying out the EU-Moldova Association Agreement, representing strategic direction of the country.
For her part, Helen Clark assured of full support in meeting the goal on Moldova’s sustainable development.
Also, the sides reviewed the cooperation between Moldova and UNDP. In the context, Filip opted for further developing partnership aimed at visible results, having example of successful cooperation within major projects implemented with UNDP support in Moldova. Among them are: Moldova Energy and Biomass Project and Support to Confidence Building Measures Programme, which have positive impact on people from both banks of the Dniestre river.
