Independent candidate for Moldovan presidency begins campaigning

Chisinau, 8 October /MOLDPRES/ – Independent candidate Valeriu Ghiletchi launched today his campaign for presidential elections of 30 October.
Valeriu Ghiletchi will occupy the twelfth position on the ballot and his election slogan is: Peace in the family. Unity of the people. Welfare for citizens.
At the official launch, Valeriu Ghiletchi said that as president he would be a guarantor of the proper functioning of the state institutions. "At the same time, a head of the country must unite society and guarantee the citizens’ rights and freedoms. I will do everything possible to ensure a prosperous future for young people and families, ensuring peace and welfare," said Ghiletchi.
The independent candidate also said that "I will stress upon restoring territorial integrity, continuing the process of European integration and development of friendly relations with neighbouring countries and EU members," said Ghiletchi.
Valeriu Ghiletchi is a radio and telecommunications engineer by profession. Since 2009 he was a member of Moldovan parliament from PLDP, now being an independent MP.
Direct presidential elections will take place in Moldova on 30 October 2016. CEC has recorded 12 candidates for the Moldovan president post: Marian Lupu – on behalf of the Democratic Party, Mihai Ghimpu – Liberal Party, Iurie Leanca – European People’s Party of Moldova, Andrei Nastase – Dignity and Truth Political Party, Ina Popenco – Ravnopravie (Equality of Rights), Dumitru Ciubasenco – Our Party, Maia Sandu – Action and Solidarity Party and Igor Dodon – Party of Socialists, Silvia Radu – independent candidate, Maia Laguta – independent candidate, Ana Gutu – Right Party and Valeriu Ghileţchi – an independent candidate.
