Contracts signed with enterprises concerned in fake tenders from Moldovan capital to be cancelled

Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - All contracts signed by Chisinau municipal subdivisions with the enterprises concerned in the inquiry on fake tenders for supplying schools and kindergartens from the capital with food products will be cancelled, the Chisinau city hall said today.  

According to the press service of the Moldovan capital’s city hall, till late 2016,  food products will be delivered to Chisinau-based pre-university and pre-school institutions by the other economic agents, which had signed procurement contracts, and no suspicions were discovered concerning their goods, or, contracts will be signed also with other providers, if necessary.

On the immediately next period, the Chisinau city hall will initiate public discussions, with participation of parents and representatives of education institutions, on the way children from schools and kindergartens are to be nourished, as well as to start a reform in this sector.

Last week, anticorruption officers and prosecutors detained 16 persons in a file on faking public tenders on supplying Chisinau-based schools and kindergartens with perished food products. Among them, there are nine civil servants of the Chisinau city hall’s education, youth and sport department.  

If found guilty, the suspects run the risk of being sentenced to up to ten years of imprisonment, fine worth 8,000 contravention units (400,000 lei) and depriving of the right to hold certain positions for a period of up to ten years.
