Romanian embassy in Chisinau makes remarks on parliamentary elections

Chisinau, 8 December /MOLDPRES/- About 87,500 ballot papers will be distributed to the 35 polling stations in Moldova for the parliamentary elections from Romania due on 11 December 2016, Romanian Ambassador to Chisinau Daniel Ionita said today.
“There will not be required other documents for Romanian citizens from abroad holding passports with residence visa in Moldova. Those who will be voting with Romanian identity card, will need a document issued by the Moldovan authorities, denoting that the citizen has residence visa in this country,” the quoted source said.
Also, the ambassador announced that the 880 citizens, who wanted to vote by mail, should have already received the envelope containing the ballot paper, and till now they had to send this envelope to the electoral office. “If one of these persons did not receive this document so far, must urgently notify the electoral office in order to vote at any polling station opened in Moldova,” Ionita said.
Most polling stations will be opened in Chisinau – 12. At the same time, polling stations will be opened in the central country - Hincesti, Ialoveni, Nisporeni, Orhei, Caușeni, Anenii Noi, Bardar and Calarasi. In southern Moldova – at the Romanian Consulate in Cahul, Cantemir, Leova, Cimislia, Giurgiulesti and Carabetovca, and in the northern country – at Romanian Consulate in Balti, Drochia, Edinet, Floresti, Falesti and Soroca.
A number of 23 polling stations was opened for the Romanian citizens from Moldova at the presidential elections from Romania held in 2014.
