Authorities from Transnistrian region announce strict security measures

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/- Authorities from the Transnistrian region announced today strict security measures while holding the so-called presidential elections in the region, as well as providing financial rewards for those who will denounce illegalities in the electoral process.
According to the so-called ministry of internal affairs in the region, control over documents will be reinforced during the elections and correctness of registration and residence of citizens will be checked up. Also, it was announced about applying mechanisms to protect witnesses, contributing to denouncing forgery, including financial rewards.
In this context, a reward of 500,000 Transnistrian rubles (over 40,000 euros) will be paid for the information on denouncing forgery. For information on participation of the central election commission's members in forgery – 400,000 Transnistrian rubles, for the same fraud on behalf of the territorial election commissions – 300,000 Transnistrian rubles.
A reward for denouncing cases of bribery of voters – 5,000 Transnistrian rubles (over 400 euros) was set too, and for announcing any facts that would influence the result of elections – from 1,000 to 10,000 Transnistrian rubles.
The elections in Transnistria will take place on 11 December 2016. In all, six candidates are registered in the electoral race.
