Moldovan foreign minister meets OSCE general secretary

Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Andrei Galbur has had a meeting with OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier on the sidelines of the 23rd meeting of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Hamburg, Germany, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.

The two officials exchanged opinions on OSCE’s role in strengthening the capacities of its institutions to cope with both the present crises and conflict and the new threats and challenges to the security of the OSCE member states.

Deputy Prime Minister Galbur highly appreciated Moldova’s close cooperation within OSCE, stressing the important role of this organization in its capacity of mediator in the process of settling the conflict in Moldova’s eastern region. For his part, Secretary General Zannier reiterated the organization’s support for the Transnistrian problem settlement process.
