Chisinau, 9 December /MOLDPRES/ - The Constitutional Court (CCM) judges in office will receive pensions for length of service, according to legislative amendments adopted by the parliament today.
The initiative belongs to Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu and MPs Stefan Creanga, Igor Vremea and Sergiu Sirbu.
Under the document, the magistrates of the Constitutional Court who turned 50 and have a length of service of 20 years, including as CCM judge on a period of full mandate, have right to pension for length of service accounting for 55 per cent of the average salary.
At the same time, three per cent of the salary will be added for each full year in service over the length of service of 20 years. Yet, the pension for the length of service will not exceed 80 per cent of the average salary of Court’s judge. After retirement, the CCM judges will have right to be employed and receive both the full pension and the salary.
The parliament is to consider also a draft law providing for the increase in the number of CCM judges from six to seven. Also, there is a proposal to increase the mandate of the Court’s judges from six to nine years, without right to renewal.
