Another six persons detained following searches by Moldovan anticorruption centre officers, prosecutors

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - Another six persons have been detained by anticorruption officers and prosecutors in a file on corruption actions committed by employees of the Sculeni customs checkpoint and Ungheni customs office.
According to the head of the press service of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA), Angela Starinschi, it is about two shift heads of the Sculeni customs checkpoint and four customs inspectors.
“Also today, following raids by CNA and anticorruption prosecutors, the head of the Ungheni customs office, his deputy, a shift head of the Sculeni customs checkpoint and a customs inspector were detained. All the ten customs employees are detained for 72 hours and are suspected of corruption actions,” Starinschi said.
At the same time, the Sculeni customs checkpoint is de-blocked and works as normal. “The action continues with searches at more addresses. Subsequently, we will come up with details,” Starinschi said.
Anticorruption prosecutors and officers today carry out searches at the Sculeni customs checkpoint, at addresses in Ungheni, as well as in Chisinau.
