Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - Representatives of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office carry out searches at the government’s headquarters. The head of the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PG), Maria Vieru, has confirmed the information for MOLDPRES.
According to Vieru, the searches are made at the Economics Ministry within a criminal file. “We cannot provide more details, in order not to harm the march of the inquiry. Subsequently, we will come up with information,” Vieru noted.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, Viorel Morari, said the file would have been opened partially at a notification by Prime Minister Pavel Filip. At the same time, Morari specified that there were no detained persons at present.
According to media sources, the Economics Ministry would have issued a press release confirming the actions of anticorruption prosecutors. “The Economics Ministry’s leadership took note of the actions undertaken by employees of the prosecutor’s office and National Anticorruption Centre regarding employees of the institution, providing every support of the competent bodies in investigating the concerned case, which deals with the good management of the state patrimony,” the media sources said.
