Moldovan energy regulator sets new by four per cent higher ceiling prices for petrol, diesel

Chisinau, 13 December /MOLDPRES/ - The prices for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol will rise by 4.1 per cent and for diesel – by 4.9 per cent, starting from 14 December. The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today set the ceiling selling price for Premium-95 petrol at 16.97 lei for one litre and the one for diesel – at 14.91 lei for one litre for 14-27 December.
This is the second period in a row when the petrol and diesel prices increase significantly. The ceiling selling prices for the Premium-95 petrol grew by 0.32 lei and the ones for diesel – by 0.35 lei for 30 November – 13 December.
The new rates for petrol and diesel will enter into force at midnight, when operators will have no right to sell fuel by retail at higher prices than established by ANRE. The prices posted on ANRE’s webpage today will be valid during 14 calendar days.
ANRE has been applying the procedure of setting ceiling selling prices for fuels starting from last May, when a price of 16.21 lei was set for one litre of Premium-95 petrol and 13.83 lei for one litre of diesel.
