Moldovan president-elect to be sworn in office at ceremony on 23 December

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ - The ceremony on swearing in office of the president-elect will take place at the Palace of the Republic on 23 December, where a solemn joint meeting of the parliament and Constitutional Court will be held, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.
The ceremony investiture of the Moldovan president will be broadcast live via the state TV channels, radio and other electronic mass media means. The ceremony, under the law, consists of a solemn joint meeting of the parliament and Constitutional Court, due to be opened by the parliament speaker; reading by the president of the Constitutional Court (CCM) of the CCM’s ruling on validation of the elections for the office of president; taking the promissory oath by the president-elect of Moldova; handing the Presidential Sash and the presidential investiture speech.
Also, the Moldovan president, parliament speaker and the president of the Constitutional Court, as well as other officials will lay wreaths of flowers at the monument to Stefan cel Mare. At the final phase of the investiture ceremony, the power will be conveyed from the acting president to the president-elect at the official residence.
At the same, the standing bureau decided that the parliament’s autumn session should end on 23 December, following the ceremony of president’s swearing in office.
At a meeting today, the standing bureau approved the agenda of the parliament’s plenary meetings for 15-23 December. The MPs included 49 drafts on the agenda, including the laws on the public budget in the final reading.
