Moldovan government decides setting local posts of rescue, firefighters

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ – The Cabinet approved a number of legislative changes aimed at territorial organization and rescue stations activity, fire anti-inflammatory and increasing security in residential sectors, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.

By new provisions, territorial rescue and fire station is a public service provider in order to liquidate the consequences of fires and emergency situations and provides primary intervention, until the arrival of basic certified forces and fire service rescuers. The staffs of both stations are composed of employees as well as volunteers, has technical intervention and special technical equipment. Currently, at the expense of local budgets, there are already created 26 territorial rescue and fire jobs in Moldova.

Also, there are to be applied to a number of measures to enhance the security of citizens at work by preventing cases of poisoning from toxic combustion products. In this regard, the document sets out the obligations of natural gas supplier and homeowners in fire protection. These include: exploitation of liquefied gas containers in strict accordance with the regulations in force, ensuring the proper functioning of the installations and heating appliances, the annual assessment of chimneys and ventilation channels before winter starts.

At the same time, compliance with fire safety measures will be monitored by trained individuals and legal entities as established and certified by the specialized commission, created in the Department of rescuers and firefighters of Civil Protection and Emergencies.

The document is to be submitted to Parliament for adoption.
