Moldovan premier states low salaries not to represent excuse for lawless actions

Chisinau, 14 December /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister Pavel Filip referred to recent searches of anti-corruption bodies, at today meeting of Cabinet of Ministers, deployed in some offices of Economy Ministry, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
In this context, prime minister made an appeal to all civil servants, noting that the government's goal is to provide higher salaries for all employees in public sector so that the best, most professional ones to work for state. "We are already moving toward that goal, we started the reform of the State Chancellery, we prepared central public administration reform, we found possibilities to come up with higher salaries for workers that provide revenue to the state budget, I refer to customs and fiscal employees. At the same time, low wages do not represent an excuse or reason for lawless actions," said Pavel Filip.
At the same time, the prime minister said that searches made by anti-corruption bodies were made at his request and warned managers of public authorities to demonstrate maximum responsibility at work. "I signed a series of steps that are all guilty ones to be held to account, no matter what department or what political party they represent, for me it is very important to have this responsibility primarily to those who manage public goods," concluded Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
