Italy to further back Moldova in European integration

Chisinau, 15 December /MOLDPRES/ – The Moldo-Italian business and social-economic cooperation, as well as opportunities for deepening the bilateral partnership were the main topics discussed at today meeting between Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Ambassador of Italy in Chisinau, Enrico Nunziata, the government’s communication and media relations department has reported.
During discussions, the prime minister thanked the Italian diplomat for his efforts during his term and contribution to promote the dialogue between Moldova and Italy. Also, Pavel Filip congratulated him on the occasion Enrico Nunziata decoration medal "Meritul Civic" (Civic Merit), stressing that this distinction being Moldova’s sign of gratitude. "Thanks to authorities in Rome for assistance and positive attitude towards Moldovan Diaspora in Italy," also said the premier.
At his part, Ambassador of Italy in Chisinau, Enrico Nunziata, appreciated the reforms promoted by the Cabinet of Ministers along this year, including signing the Agreement with the International Monetary Fund, unlock of external financing and regaining confidence of development partners. "The actual government took the path of accelerated reforms and I should like to congratulate you on tangible results achieved. Italy will further on provide support to Moldova in its European integration," said Enrico Nunziata.
The officials also discussed the measures taken by the government in Chisinau on facilitating entrepreneurial activity and attracting foreign investment. In this context, the Italian diplomat said that businessmen from Italy were interested in investing in Moldova due to strategic positioning and export opportunities, both in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and EU.
